Virtual Collections Discussion Group Meets

The MAS special interest group discussing Virtual Collections met on Friday, May 23, at the MAC in Cut Knife. Eight museum representatives from around the province gathered, under the leadership of Debbie Massett of the Western Development Museum, to discuss and share issues surrounding the use of the museum software. Thanks to Noreen for providing the delicious noon lunch. The group had a brief tour of the museum after lunch before continuing with the meeting.

Garage Sale Saturday

We are having our annual garage sale this Saturday, May 17th, in conjunction with the multi-garage sale in town that is sponsored by the Cut Knife Chamber of Commerce.
Items have been donated to the museum for the sale that starts at 9 am at the Armstrong Building on the museum grounds.
See you there for some bargains. The proceeds help us to continue our work to improve the museum.

Staffing Positions Filled

All of the advertised positions at the museum have now been filled. Thankyou to everyone who applied.
We look forward to a productive summer with our new staff.

These Were a Few of our Favorite Things!

A Favorites Display was held at the Seniors Center on May 2, hosted by the museum, the Cut Knife Quilting Divas and the Cut Knife Nimble Thimbles (Embroidery Guild). Displays consisted of beautiful needlework of many varieties, quilting and sewing projects, favorite tea cups, and personal items from the museum.
A selection of different teas and flavoured coffees were served along with a delicious selection of 'favorite' sweets to temp the tastebuds.
Thanks to the talented craftspersons for allowing us to see the results of many hours of work. Also thanks to the Nimble Thimbles for providing the lunch.
It was a lovely way to spend a beautiful May afternoon.

Volunteer Appreciation Bistro

Our volunteers were invited to a "Bistro" on Saturday afternoon, Jan 19th where they were treated to some good music, delicious desserts and coffee/tea, and a presentation of pictures that showed the highlights of what they helped accomplish in the past year at the museum. Thanks to all who helped make it possible.
